Harvest Dinner 2016
Join us for a behind the scenes look at the Harvest Dinner 2016 at the Durham College Center for Food in Whitby ON. The Harvest Dinner is an annual celebration that raises funds for bursaries and scholarships for students. Fruit and vegetables grown and harvested from the campus “field to fork” market garden are prepared by students and faculty from the culinary program. The event is hosted by hospitality management and events planning faculty and students. The event brings together multiple faculties and programs at the Center For Food and showcases the exciting things Durham College is doing in shaping new paradigms in food and farming.
Blue Skies Truth Radio was luck enough to go behind the scenes to document the event from set up to take down. Watch the event unfold from a students perspective as we observed a true “field to fork” experience. Listen to Center For Food ambassador Chef Jamie Kennedy talk about what is happening at Durham College and why it is so special. Stop in at and check out what the Center For Food and it’s farm to table restaurant Bistro 67′ has to offer. It’s a world class facility and a playground for students in Culinary, Hospitality, Events, Horticulture Food and Farming.
